I considered Sally Kempner something of a mentor.  This impacted me the most when we were both at Post.  She had a certain "grown-upedness" about her--while she was busy being a kid.  The world is still all right, but it is "a world less bright" (song title) without her--because of who she was and deeds she did after she was a grown-up for real.  I remember how her friendship made me feel.  I remember that she might render a critical comment or two (as a critical-thinking individual can be inclined to do).  No one needed and deserved it more than I did.  I was an un-grown-up kind of kid.

Sally was a big part of my Junior High School years.  She was the girl with the big imagination and the strong guts to live her life as she pleased.  Hard to imagine that she isn't on this earth anymore.
