I first met David goofing off around the Mumford Mercury office. We met up again as students at Monteith College at WSU, where we took part in all kinds of activities together. We got married in 1965 and divorced not a whole while later, but we stayed friendly. Dave was always interested in social justice and community organization. I used to say that i would be lying under a tree reading poetry, and David would be setting up a committee to stop a commercial group from cutting the tree down for an urban renewal project. We had some great times together, and he taught me so very much. He passed away much too early, but he left lots of good vibes behind.
