Yale Podden was my neighbor - lived just down the street from me. I remember that Jason Bodzin's family took Yale and his younger brother in as family when Yale's parents passed away. I recently spoke with Jason but he didn't mention that Yale had died but maybe this just happened. He was such a huge part of my growing up - playing "Red Rover Red Rover, let Yale come over", etc. It saddens me to learn this.
Yale was my friend and very first date (and crush). He took me on a Shul youth group hayride. Best part - first kiss. Worst part - my parents were the chaperones. Played street games like Red Rover and Mud Gutter. Sometimes he would let me win on purpose. :) Such a good guy and terrible loss.
