I will really truly miss Bernard. He was my cousin. In high school he was very popular and I wasn't.. He treated me very badly. He was always mean and snobish. He told everyone that he was not related to me. I told everyone that he was my cousin. At a big family function, both of us in our late 20s,Bernard finally talked to me. He apologized in front of a lot of people, for being so mean and nasty to me in high school. He explained that he did not know why he acted so awful to me. I told him it was because he was the rich spoiled Yagoda kid and I was the poor unspoiled Yagoda kid....For over 40 years Bernie called me every month or two, just to talk about life and family. We would talk for at least an hour or more. He always wanted to make sure that I was okay.It did not matter how much he moved or what was going on in his life, he always called me. From Bernard I learned the meaning of being RICH- and it had nothing to do with money. Joy Yagoda Huls
Bernard, thank you for being a sincere, wonderful friend while we attended Mumford. We laughed and joked together and about many things-our instructors, of course included. The specifics seem to fade now, but the positive feelings and your acceptance of me remains forever.
Bernard and I were friends going back to elementary school. I am very sorry to hear of his death and so close to his brothers death. My best memory of Bernard was going over to his home on Outer Drive after school and watching color TV. They had one long before anyone else. We would set in his den and be amazed at this new technology. I will miss him.

I remember Bernie fondly, although we didn't hang out. I will never forget his slogan when he ran for Student Council (was it President?).
Yagoda school, Yagoda work. Vote for Yagoda!
He had my vote on slogan alone!
Posthumous best wishes, Bernard,
May you reign in Heaven.
