David was a real mensch. He had a great way with people. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Alan and I saw David just a couple of months ago out at a restaurant.  He stopped to chat at our table.  We talked for about 20 minutes.  I am in total shock!!!  David was such a great guy.  I am so sad and send my deepest sympathies to Fern.  I remember them at Mumford.  RIP dear David.

I have known David since elementary school. He treated everyone with warmth and kindness.  I was shocked at his death. I will miss him.

What can I say that our classmates have not already written.  I saw David at the 2013 reunion as I was standing in the registration line.  When we looked at each other his smile, openess  and warmth reached out as we exchanged greetings.  He was one of our classmates that was liked and admired by everyone.  You will not be forgotten.

While I remember David only a bit from Mumford, that "bit" included what so many others are saying - a kind and sincere classmate and neighborhood friend.  I send my sympathy and wishes for comfort to Fern, who I have known since we were both young children together at camp, and remember her throughout some of our times spent at school as the same kind and sincere human being as her husband.  Having seen some of the family photos you posted, Fern, I'm so glad that you all had what looked like some happy times together and that those memories will bring some peace in time after what seems to have been a sudden loss. Whether it was sudden or not, having had many close family losses myself, I know, ultimately, that peace will come after the challenges of dealing with grief. What I wish for you, Fern and family, is for that time to pass quickly with the support of other family and friends, and your own loving memories. Mi Shebeirach, old friend.

Jules and I are so sorry to hear about David. He was such a nice guy. Jules was in his graduate class and I was right behind a half year. We both remember his friendliness and his great personality. Our wishes go out to your family.

David was a great friend! When I came back to Michigan to care for my Mom, David helped me with legal details. He was always aware of current events!
