I last saw Sylvia when we roomed at Vail, a student cooperative in an unpretentious historic house in Ann Arbor. I had always admired her quiet brilliance and self-possession. She was sweet, sensitive, cute, and cherished by a wonderful guy. She was destined to do something special in life. She and those who loved her were robbed of all of this way too soon.
