A kind, gental voice has been quieted.  I hope Nat had a happy life.  Sorry to have lost touch after HS.

I lost track of him after he was a DJ at WJLB.  At that point I considered him the coolest guy I knew.

RIP.

There are very few people that I remember from those years. Nathan was one of them.  He was a very mature student in a sea of squeaky voiced boys. It added years to his maturity level. I'm sure he will be missed.

I echo comments about Nathan. I recall our days planning and broadcasting the MHS weekly newscasts. He insisted we be as professional as possible for high school novices to be. He set the standard, and gently urged us to follow. We pray for the solace of Nathan's family.

I saw Nathan & his family a few months ago celebrating his Birthday at a restaurant.  He was surprised that I recognized him and it took him a few minutes to remember me.  I told him that you don't easily forget a nice person and that is exactly how I remember him.

I believe it was fifty five years ago this holiday week that I first met Nathan with his friend Benson Adler at a mutual friend's party.  I was pleased when both gentlemen became my classmates when I joined them at Mumford the following year.  Not long after Nathan started his Teen-Opinion radio show--while my sister Charlotte and I were spending one Saturday afternoon at our grandparents'/aunt and uncle's home, we gathered around the radio as the following was being aired:  my sister asking Nathan's advice about dating a boy who was shorter than she, and Nathan responding in his warm, wise way with practical advice for Charlotte.

I remember Nathan from Bagley. Since I took summer school in 6th grade, so I would graduate in June instead of January, I never saw Nathan again. Our paths never crossed.

I remember that he was very small small in stature and quiet,  and his mother used to walk him to school every day.

It truly surprised me that he became a DJ. From all the wonderful comments, it looks like he was a great guy.

R.I.P. Nathan.

OK, this is the 3rd time I'm typing this and hope it doesn't show up as many times online. I thought I was more computer-able, but evidently not. Hope this works.

"Natie" was my neighbor two doors down from my house when we both lived on San Juan in Detrtoit. I first met him and his mom when we were about 4 or 5 years old.  We used to play "Radio" on his front porch MANY days for years! (The porch on the Keller's house had an awning and ours didn't!) He was a gentle, amazingly creative, bright, wonderful friend with whom to share a world waaaay beyond the limits of the neighborhood in which we grew up. We "talked" with a whole bunch of people in our time and other times as well on the "radio" and shared so many thoughts about so many things. What a wonderful boy, who I would also see as a much-loved-to-be-remembered-from-childhood friend at Bagley and Mumford. I'm happy to learn he had a family and hope they enjoyed him with the same fondness so many people seem to have felt. Thanks so much to those of you who wrote you felt the same way.  Debby Melamed (pick a current last name from many).
